3. Nichols and May
Mike Nichols and Elaine May were a Grammy Award-winning American improvisational comedy duo act. Between 1959-1962, their three comedy albums were listed in Billboard’s Top 40. Nichols moved on to directing films such as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Graduate. May continued to act, but was more focused on screenwriting. She wrote, stared in and directed A New Leaf. They teamed up again with him directing, and her writing for The Birdcage (1996) and Primary Colors (1998).
