Trailer Park: ‘Star Wars’ Rogue One’ invades theaters

The stars are out at the theaters this weekend.  Big name celebrities star in the newest dramas and Star Wars fans can rejoice as the latest film in the series makes its debut.

A Rebellion fighter tries to sneak behind enemy lines in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  In the latest film in the Star Wars series, a young woman is tasked with getting her hands on the Death Star and designs plans in order to protect the Alliance from a potentially devastating Empire attack.  The PG-13 sci-fi adventure stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.  The fantasy film is playing in conventional, 3D and IMAX theaters for two hours and thirteen minutes.

An advertising executive grieves for the loss of his son in a unique way in Collateral Beauty.  Following his child’s death, he detaches himself from his life and those closest to him.  He finds solace in writing letters to Love, Time and Death.  The responses to his writings bring a surprising new hope into his life.  Will Smith stars in the PG-13 drama alongside Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Michael Pena, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.  The film plays for one hour and thirty-seven minutes.

An FBI agent is stumped by a series of murders in Solace.  He reaches out to a retired co-worker with psychic powers for help.  As they get closer to nabbing the killer, they discover that he has special abilities of his own.  Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Abbie Cornish star in the suspense drama.  The thriller is running in limited theaters for one hour and forty-two minutes.  It’s rated R for violence, sex, nudity and language.

The highly anticipated new Star Wars film hit theaters this weekend, but Dec. 21 is the release date of another film many have been looking forward to and that is the animated musical comedy Sing.  Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s Passengers and Mark Wahlberg’s Patriots Day are also entering theaters during the upcoming holiday weekend.
