Gift guide for the best Valentine's Day of your life

For the historian

Take geneology to a whole new level with Geno 2.0 Next Generation from National Geographic.

Having done the Ancestry.com testing, I was curious as to what this geneology kit had to offer that could be different. The answer was intriguing and I think if you have a loved one that hasn't done a DNA test yet, or still craves more information on their history, this is the perfect gift.

  • Geno 2.0 Next Generation focuses on deep ancestry from an anthropological perspective. It is not primarily a genealogy testing service designed to help customers find distant cousins or family members. Participants get access to informative graphics, science, interactive features, video, and news stories, and learn about the broader historical context of their results.
  • From a scientific perspective, Helix sequences the participant's entire exome including Mito and Y data, meaning 100x more data than other DTC providers on the market. Helix also securely stores their data (with their consent) for future learnings (via other Helix partners as they are launched). In other words, Geno 2.0 customers have the opportunity to learn more about other parts of their DNA in the future without having to provide a saliva sample again.
