Craig Robinson

While actor, musician and comedian Craig Robinson may be best known for his role as Darryl Philbin from NBC’s The Office, he has added children’s book author to his dossier as he just published Jake the Fake Keeps it Real with Crown Books for Young Readers.

Robinson was born in Chicago and grew up on the South Side.  He graduated from Illinois State University and began working as a music teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School.  He got his start in stand up after taking classes at The Second City in Chicago.  He has appeared in films Pineapple Express, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Hot Tub Time Machine, This Is the End and Sausage Party. He has also appeared on several TV shows including Arrested Development, Lucky, Friends, Halfway Home and Reno 911!.

The comedian teamed with New York Times bestselling author Adam Mansbach and illustrator Keith Knight to create Jake the Fake Keeps It Real. This funny book is based on his teaching experience.
