NBC renews 'Chicago Fire,' 'Chicago P.D.' and 'Chicago Med,' no word on 'Chicago Justice'

Three of the four shows in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise have been renewed by NBC, but the future of one is still up in there air for now.

Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med will all be making a comeback in the 2017-2018 season. There is no word yet as to whether the franchise's newest installment, Chicago Justice, will be renewed for a second season though.

Producing four Chicago shows on top of Law and Order: SVU and the upcoming Law & Order: True Crime - The Menendez Murder, Wolf has a lot of work to do. Rumors that one of the newer shows in the Chicago franchise would be canceled have been buzzing around recently. Chicago Justice is the lowest-rated drama out of the four, averaging a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, making it likely that we may not see the show again.

Chicago Fire meanwhile remains one of NBC's most watched and second-highest rated drama, trailing just behind This is UsChicago P.D. and Chicago Med aren't far behind in ratings and viewers either.

The fate of Wolf's long running Law & Order: SVU is still up in the air as well. Despite not yet being renewed for a 19th season, NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke assured Deadline in January that “we don’t see a reason why SVU would go anywhere.”
