Trailer Park: 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' flies into theaters

Some serious topics give way to light hearted laughs with the new films hitting theaters this week. The Guardians are back for an all new adventure with the help of other Marvel characters.

Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket and Yondu set out to safeguard the galaxy once again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In this sequel to the hit 2014 film, the gang faces the wrath of vengeful aliens after one of their own steals what they were hired to protect. During their mission, they discover the secret of Peter’s lineage. The PG-13 sci-fi adventure stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Kurt Russell. The film is playing in conventional, 3D and IMAX theaters for two hours and fifteen minutes.

A young woman decides to transition to a man in 3 Generations. Growing up with a houseful of women, her family struggles to come to terms with her gender identity issues. In order to make the full transition, she must get the consent of her estranged father. Naomi Watts, Elle Fanning, Susan Sarandon, Tate Donovan and Sam Trammell star in the drama. The film is running in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-four minutes.

Tensions surmount at a meal between estranged brothers and their wives in The Dinner. The couples sit down to discuss the best way to handle their sons’ role in a terrible crime. As a politician running for governor, the oldest brother thinks it’s best to take their dark family secret public. The limited released suspense thriller is based on the novel by Herman Koch and stars Richard Gere, Steve Coogan, Laura Linney, Rebecca Hall and Chloë Sevigny. The two hour drama is rated R for violence and language.

Another comedic action film will join Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters next week. Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn’s Snatched is set to debut on May 12 alongside Charlie Hunnam’s action/adventure film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
