Richard Donner’s Superman is responsible for much of the comic-book landscape, at least in terms of film, as we know it today. Arguably the first superhero film that actually took itself seriously, it’s an iconic take that deserves to be seen. The only reason it’s not higher on the list is because it doesn’t hold up quite as well for modern day audiences, but it’s hard not to hear that John Williams score without a huge smile on your face.
