In 2016, co-frontman Josiah Johnson announced he would be sidelined from the band’s upcoming tour due to battling addiction. The band preferred not to specify what, precisely, he struggles with, but Johnson decided to face his problems and head to rehab. “Josiah will not be joining us on stage this time around,” the band posted to their blog on March 11, 2016. “Josiah is battling addiction and focusing on his recovery, with all of us (and all of you) providing him with live, support and the privacy he needs to be strong on his journey, for as long as it takes for him to feel solid and whole again.” This past June Johnson re-appeared on stage with his co-musicians to perform “Rivers and Roads” at the Governors Ball. It’s hard to keep a dry eye through this one.
