Arnold Schwarzenegger stable after heart surgery

Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly underwent open heart surgery on Thursday.

Today, Schwarzenegger is okay and stable according to his rep, Daniel Ketchell, who told TMZ.

"Schwarzenegger underwent a planned procedure at Cedars-Sinai to replace a pulmonic valve that was originally replaced due to a congenital heart defect in 1997. That 1997 replacement valve was never meant to be permanent, and has outlived its life expectancy, so he chose to replace it yesterday through a less-invasive catheter valve replacement. During that procedure, an open-heart surgery team was prepared, as they frequently are in these circumstances, in case the catheter procedure was unable to be performed. Governor Schwarzenegger's pulmonic valve was successfully replaced and he is currently recovering from the surgery and is in stable condition."

Ketchell tweeted out that Schwarzenegger woke up and said, "I'm back." This can be taken as a literal reference to the actor's famous turn as the Terminator in the 1984 James Cameron film. The famous line was "I'll be back" before Schwarzenegger returned with a truck through the front door.

There is a link between bodybuilding and heart issues, so it's not a surprise that the former bodybuilder ran into heart problems in 1997. Lucky for him, the surgery went well and seemed to be a normal procedure.

The 70-year-old former Governor of California still remains politically active. A member of the Republican party, Schwarzenegger has been critical of the party recently. In an interview with CNN, Schwarzenegger attributed a lack of diversity to the party's disapproval rating.

Schwarzenegger also took over Donald Trump's duties as host of the Celebrity Apprentice last year. The Predator actor and the President began fueding once Schwarzenegger became critical of Trump.

Schwarzenegger recently appeared in the reboot of Terminator, Terminator Genisys opposite Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke. He is set to appear in Viy 2: Journey to China later this year, along with Jackie Chan.

We wish Arnold Schwarzenegger a speedy recovery.
