Stephanie Anderson and Sam Poueu of The Biggest Loser are expecting a child together.
The couple will welcome their first child in July, US Web Daily reports.
The couple has had their share of hard times together, and this pregnancy is a happy surprise. In September 2011, Poueu fell 54 feet from a fire escape. Anderson helped her man recover after he woke up with a punctured lung, severed kidney, shattered pelvis, fractured tibia and a traumatic brain injury.
Poueu says this experience proves his fiancée will be a great mother, he told Us Weekly.
“Just from the experience of her being my caretaker post-accident, it was a dead giveaway that she’d be a fantastic mother,” he said. “That was an early sign for me that our child is going to have the best mother ever.”
Anderson and Poueu began dating during The Biggest Loser’s ninth season in 2010. The couple said they will find out the baby’s gender in February.
“It is such a joy and a testament to what we’ve been through that we’ve been able to go through some of the hardest chapters in our lives and start this new chapter with such positivity. It’s exciting,” Anderson says. “It means the world to both of us.…We met to fall in love and start this family.”
