John Mayer calls relationship with Katy Perry 'very human' (Video)

John Mayer has previously been deemed a notorious bachelor, but the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer is contesting this reputation as he moves forward as a couple with fellow singer Katy Perry. Most explicitly, he has referred to his relationship as “very human.”

People reports that the 35-year-old singer opened up about his relationship with 28-year-old Perry with Anthony Mason on CBS Sunday Morning.

“I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship,” he explained. “For the first time in my life I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. I really don't. I'm not in a high profile – I know it's high profile. It's hard to explain … For me it feels like something that's very human.”

Mayer also noted that marriage is something that is definitely in his future.

This isn’t the first change we’ve seen in Mayer — he recently admitted that in previous interviews he was too open about his past relationships, noting the infamous “sexual napalm” reference of ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson. He agreed that he had been a “jerk,” with his overly cavalier comments.
