Rihanna continues to be on the defense of her relationship with Chris Brown, explaining in a new interview that Brown “isn’t the monster everyone thinks he is."
Mirror reports that the “Diamonds” singer opened up about her relationship with Brown and the backlash she received after finally admitting that the two were giving it another go.
She explains, "It's different now. We don't have those types of arguments any more. We talk about [stuff]. We value each other."
Brown remains on probation for beating Rihanna in Feb. 2009. In the last few months, Rihanna and Brown have created speculation that they were back together, but both musicians refused to confirm the relationship.
Rihanna finally confirmed the relationship during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
Continuing, Rihanna explained that even when Brown lashes out in public, it doesn’t create the image of the person he is now.
"I know it comes off like that, and it doesn't help. For a long time, he was really angry ... there's so many reasons why I ever reconsidered having him in my life. He's not the monster everyone thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him - he always makes me laugh."
According to Mirror, Rihanna’s father has also forgiven Brown.
Brown and Rihanna were in Hawaii together last week to celebrate her 25th birthday.
