Today he's the United States' first African American president. He attends fancy dinners and fundraisers and has high-profile pals like Beyonce, Jay-Z and will.i.am. But in 1991, he was just a Harvard Law School graduate with a commercial on TBS.

Yahoo reported a Youtube video posted by Akaczynski1 shows a young Obama promoting Black History month in a Black History Minutes segment.

The Daily Caller wrote the then 28 or 29-year-old (29 if the ad indeed aired during Black History Month in February) was an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the time.

In the public service announcement he talks about Charles Hamilton Houston, Brown vs. Board of Education and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in a much lower, cautionary tone of voice.

The DC also reported the video was made five years before Obama's Illinois state Senate seat campaign.

While it's not an embarrassing travesty, viewers can definitely see how far Obama's public speaking skills have come over the past 20 years.

And check out the hair! It looks like the president seemed to have embraced his African roots with a mini-fro. Check out the video below and tells us what you think.
