American Reunion, directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, is the latest instalment of the long running American Pie series. But what does this film do that is different from its numerous predecessors I hear you ask, well for a start it stars the entire original cast of the first American Pie movie. American Reunion sees the whole original gang get back together for one wild weekend at their school reunion. We will find some people have changed whilst others have remained the same, but either way they will find their friendship has endured both time and distance.

This must have been some task getting the original cast to all agree to come back and do another movie, but its happened. We have the four boys, all-be-it men now, which the original movie centred around and their quest to loose their virginity. We have the lads' partners both old and new and even the supporting cast has been reassembled.

I was, along with most other teenage boys at that time, a huge fan of the original American Pie movie way back in 1999. The mix of sexual endeavours and disgustingly cringe worthy situations these guys seemed to find themselves in was a huge hit with me. I would like to think I have grown up, matured and grown out of this kind of comedy. But once in a while it is good to kick back and just be entertained and what better film to kick back to than the teenage movie which started all teenage movies.

The two major stars in the new film are Alyson Hannigan who has been in The hugely successful television series How I Met Your Mother. The other is actor Seann William Scott who has found success if such films as Old School, Bullettproof Monk and the wildly entertaining comedy Role Models. Both have found great success since leaving the American Pie series and I am impressed and delighted to see that they have managed to get them back for the latest.

When I found this out I was quite amused, that John Cho, who probably has the biggest future out the the cast, has come back as MILF guy number 2, his original role in the first film. John has starred in the Harold & Kumar films, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and of course Star Trek. They have Captain Sulu playing MILF guy number 2! Amazing!

This movie is going to be massive with both young and older audiences going to see it. The young because its a film about sex, hot women and partying. The older because, like myself, I loved the original movie and would love to see the old gang back together and partying old school style.

American Reunion hots cinemas April 6.
