Jaymes Vaughan, a fan favorite this season on The Amazing Race, has revealed that he wants to win the show's prize of $1 million to help his father battling an incurable cancer.
"I found out my father was diagnosed with one of the rarest cancers that there is. At this point it's an incurable cancer, and we're trying to do everything we can to help him turn it into a curable cancer," Vaughan told People.
Vaughan is competing on the show with best friend and fellow Chippendales dancer, James Davis.
"We're fortunate enough that we are young, we can work, we can work doubles. We can send checks home, we can take care of the folks," Davis mentioned about helping out their parents.
Vaughan, who is also a singer, has even set up website called FORGETCANCERNOW.com so he can try to raise money for his father's recovery.
"I feel like we were given this platform at this time for a reason. It's my opportunity to help my family right now. It was my parents who gave me everything I needed while growing up to be able to get where I am now," Vaughan said as quoted by CBS News.
"My Dad is the main reason I'm in the entertainment world because whenever everyone else didn't encourage me, he said, 'You can do anything you want.' He drove me to my first audition. He's always been my No. 1 supporter and No. 1 fan. And I want to keep him around for a really long time," he continued.
