Alex Borstein is set to write and produce Linda Green, the hour-long adaptation of the British dramedy that ran for two seasons in 2001 to 2002 on BBC One.
Borstein will be joined by Paul Abbott, the co-creator of the original British series, who will executive produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner are also set to executive produce for BBC Worldwide Productions.
Fox's adaptation of the blue-collar series will be about the titular main character and her four best friends as they make their way through their 30s in Boston. It will focus on the often-disappointing realities of love, marriage and stability. Each episode will offer a look into their lives as they try to be a little nicer to one another.
Borstein and Abbott have worked together on Showtime’s Shameless, where Borstein has served as a writer-consulting producer. Abbott is the co-creator of the series and the creator of the original British version, reports Deadline.
