Since the passing of television icon Larry Hagman in November, Dallas producers have had to plan how the TNT show will say goodbye to J.R. Ewing.
According to E! News, oil tycoon Ewing will be laid to rest during the eighth episode of the second season set to air on March 11. It remains unknown how Hagman's character will pass away on the show and producers intend to keep it top secret.
There are rumors that some classic Dallas characters will make appearances in the episode but there hasn't been any official word on who those guest stars will be.
Hagman filmed six of the fifteen episodes scheduled for season two before passing away at the age of 81 from complications of his battle with cancer, which he was diagnosed with over a year ago. His death caught producers off-guard and they had to rework the upcoming season's plot to reflect the situation, reports The Huffington Post.
Hagman became a TV icon with his role of J.R. Ewing on Dallas as well as playing Major Anthony Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie alongside Barbara Eden.
Dallas will return to TNT for its second season on January 28 at 9 p.m. EST.
