During this weekend's Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live it was announced that Jennifer Lawrence will be the first host of the show in 2013.
The 22-year-old actress will make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut on January 19 and she will be joined by musical guest The Lumineers, reports Entertainment Weekly.
It was recently announced that Lawrence earned a Golden Globe nomination as well as a Screen Actors Guild nomination for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. There are reports that she is a top contender for the Academy Awards too. The Oscar nominees will be announced on January 10.
SNL's episode this weekend hosted by Martin Short also honored the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. During the show's opening the New York City Children’s Chorus sang "Silent Night," according to Just Jared.
Lawrence is currently filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire which will wrap up by the end of December, reports Hypable.
