With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who comes the Royal Mail's special collectible stamps featuring the actors who have portrayed the Doctor.
"It's 50 years since a strange old man stepped out of a Police Box in a scrapyard down Totter's Lane, and the most beloved and exciting television series in the universe began. Since then, the Time Lord has had many faces and battled many foes, and his adventures look set to continue for years to come," the Royal Mail's promotional site says.
The collection of stamps will begin with William Hartnell, who played the first doctor, and will feature each doctor that followed all the way to the current one played by Matt Smith, reports The Huffington Post.
"We are delighted to be able to celebrate this remarkable 50th anniversary. These stamps pay tribute to the brilliant actors that have played the Doctor over the years as well as the adversaries that helped make the show so popular," said Andrew Hammond, managing director of stamps and collectibles at Royal Mail, as quoted by London's Daily Mail.
The stamps will be available on March 26, 2013.
