ABC has announced that it has pulled Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 from the network's Sunday night lineup.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC revealed that the two shows, intended to air at 10 and 10:30 p.m. respectively, will be replaced by an encore of Shark Tank this week. But both shows will continue to air on Tuesdays at 9 and 9:30 p.m. until the results show for Dancing With the Stars takes over that hour later this season.
Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 started airing on Sundays, aside from their regular times on Tuesdays, on January 6, reports TheWrap. The shows also replaced 666 Park Avenue, which has been pulled from ABC's schedule, but its remaining episodes are planned to air this summer.
Although they have given modest showings during their regular times on Tuesday, the two shows fell to a series low this past week with Happy Endings only reaching a 1.0 rating and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 dropping 11 percent to a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
ABC Network Groups president Paul Lee spoke about the two shows at the Television Critics Association winter press tour last week saying, "We love those two shows. They're incredibly distinctive, and they’re water-cooler shows."
Both shows will leave the ABC schedule early in March, but Lee did not comment on either of the shows' futures and the network has not revealed whether they will be removed from the Sunday night lineup permanently.
