ESPN anchor Hannah Storm returned to work Tuesday after suffering from burns due to a propane tank exploding at her Connecticut home three weeks ago.
Storm, who has been an anchor at the SportsCenter desk since 2008, returned to co-host ABC's coverage of the 2013 Rose Parade on New Year's Day with Good Morning America's Josh Elliott, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Only three weeks prior, a propane tank exploded while she prepared dinner for her family and tried to light the grill again after the flame went out.
"It was like you see in a movie, it happened in a split-second. A neighbor said he thought a tree had fallen through the roof, it was that loud. It blew the doors off the grill," Storm explained as she spoke about the "wall of fire" that hit her.
She suffered second-degree burns on her chest and hands, first-degree burns on her face and neck and the explosion also burned off her eyebrows, eyelashes and half of her hair.
Storm wore a bandage on her left hand and hair extensions on air during the parade but other than that she didn't appear different from the way she looked a month ago, reports ABC News. Her trip to California for the parade was her first major trip outside since she left the hospital.
"Can't begin to thank you all enough for your kindness and support. Getting ready for #RoseParade with @JoshElliottABC. Happy New Year!" she tweeted New Year's Day.

Storm is expected to return to SportsCenter's Bristol, Connecticut studio for next Sunday's episode and following that she revealed she will travel to Miami to watch her alma mater, Notre Dame, play Alabama in the national championship game.
