Two and a Half Men, the long running CBS sitcom, was given the green light for an eleventh season.
The 2003 Chuck Lorre created sitcom stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer whose contracts have since been renewed. Angus T. Jones, who has starred in the series since 2003, will not return as a regular this season. The reason behind his non-regular return is not a product of his infamous 2012 rant in which he called the series “the work of Satan” and “filth,” but rather so he can focus on his music.
As we previously reported, CBS president Nina Tassler noted that Jones would be asked back to the series despite his negative words toward the show which made him famous.
“We'd like him to be part of it next year he'd like it to be. I think he'd like to come back too, “ she explained.
However, a source tells Us Weekly, “They tried really hard to keep him, but he was just done.”
As Deadline notes, Jones’ character Jake is not seen a significant amount on the show anyhow as he recently went off to the Army.
In addition to music, the 19-year-old actor has expressed his desire to go to college.
