Elton John and Madonna have had a tumultuous feud going on for years. However, the “Tiny Dancer” singer is now proclaiming that it is over.
John opened up about the feud in a new interview with Extra, telling Terry Seymour they settled their differences over dinner in France.
“We were in a restaurant in France in the summertime. She came in, and I sent over a note,” he told Extra. “She was very gracious. I apologized profusely because what I said should never have appeared in public. She accepted our apology, and then we bought her dinner. That's over and done with.”
John continued that Madonna was a great sport about it. “She was fantastic,” he said. “She was just like, ‘Okay, let’s get a move on.’ We don’t believe in putting negativity out in the world, both of us were embarrassed when all that stuff came out.”
Part of the “stuff” John is referring to is an interview with Austrlia’s Sunday Night, where John said of Madonna “She’s such a nightmare. “Her career’s over...and she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper. She’s been so horrible to Gaga.”
John is very close friends with Lady Gaga, who is godmother to both of his sons with partner David Furnish.
