Hulu held its upfront presentation at NewFront in New York today, announcing new shows and giving advertisers a positive report on the site’s growth.

The company claimed that its revenue for 2012 hit $650 million, notes AdAge. Its stats also show that its business model - which includes an $8-per-month subscription service - is working. Hulu Plus is up to 4 million paid subscribers, twice as many as it had last year. It also said that it counted a billion streams in the first quarter of 2013.

“When we started Hulu was only available on computers; now we're on 350 million connected devices,” interim CEO Andy Forssell said.

The presentation included announcements for 11 brand new shows exclusive to Hulu. EW reports that the most exciting new show might just be The Awesomes, an animated series from SNL’s Seth Meyers and Michael Shoemaker. The 10-episode series will start on Aug. 1 and will include the voices of SNL cast members Kenan Thompson and Taran Killam.

Chris O’Dowd stars in the semi-autobiographical Moone Boy, which will be up on July 10. The show airs on TV in the U.K. and has already been renewed for two more seasons there.

Other new shows include the Western Quick Draw, high school drama East Los High, Eva Longoria’s Mother Up! and Behind the Mask, a series focused on mascots.

According to THR, Carson Daly has scored a weekly music series, while Hulu is also be home to Prisoners of War, the Israeli series that Homeland is based on.
