Lea Michele is getting in the memoir game, sharing her experience as a 26-year-old actress and singer. The Glee star’s book will be titled Brunette Ambition.
Random House’s Crown Publishing Group’s Harmony Books imprint will publish the book, which is described as “part memoir, part how-to and part style guide,” reports The New York Times. Michele will write about going “from normal Bronx-born schoolgirl to Broadway child star to lead actress in one of the most popular shows on television,” according to the press release.
“There wasn't a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I needed to do, and know, to get to where I am today,” the actress, who plays Rachel Berry on the Fox show, said in a statement, notes USA Today. The book is “not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm, and hard work to make your dreams come true,” she added.
Other Glee stars have been bit by the writing bug. Jenna Ushkowitz recently published Choosing Glee: 10 Rules to Finding Inspiration, Happiness and the Real You, while Chris Colfer has already started his career as an author for young adults. Colfer wrote The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell and his The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns is coming out in August.
Brunette Ambition will hit bookstores in spring 2014. While Glee’s season already finished, the show will be back in the fall.
