Sure, NBC won the top ratings on Monday night, but the main story was the huge jump for How I Met Your Mother’s eighth season finale. Fans tuned in to see if the mother in the title would finally be revealed and the result was the show’s best numbers in months.

ABC had the most viewers though, thanks to Dancing With The Stars. The network averaged 12.43 million viewers, but had just a 2.0 18-49 rating. According to The Wrap, DWTS had 13 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating, which was at least even with last week. Castle finished the night with 11.3 million and a 2.2 18-49 rating.

NBC had 9.26 million viewers and a 3.1 18-49 rating, the best on the night, notes HitFix. The Voice dipped again to 11 million viewers and a 3.6 18-49 rating, the lowest this season (but still the best-rated show on the night). Revolution also fell to 5.7 million viewers and a 1.9 18-49 rating.

CBS had 8.06 million viewers and a 2.5 18-49 rating. HIMYM’s 3.4 18-49 rating was a 31 percent jump from last week, but THR does note that this was lower than the 2012 finale. It had 8.37 million viewers. Following a Big Bang Theory repeat, the 2 Broke Girls finale ahd 8.9 million viewers and a 2.9 18-49 rating, while Mike & Molly had 8.32 million and a 2.4. Hawaii Five-0 had 7.68 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating.

Fox had just 3.97 million viewers and a 1.7 18-49 rating for a two-hour Hell’s Kitchen.

The CW’s 90210 series finale had just 621,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating.
