Jersey Shore's ultra-tan beefcake, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, revealed that he’d suffered an aneurysm and blood clots in his kidney and required two surgeries to fix it.
At the time of his hospitalization in April, there weren’t too many details. The reality TV star had only tweeted: “Hospital,” with no further explanation or pictures.
His rep shed a little more light on the incident, telling People that on April 28, Ortiz-Magro was in Orlando promoting his new line of alcohol called Smush Cocktails when he “started feeling uncomfortable.” Later that day he was admitted to a local hospital.
Ortiz-Magro was discharged May 8, but only yesterday revealed the details of his hospital stay on the Today show at the re-opening of the Seaside Heights boardwalk.
He said, “I'm feeling a lot better now. I'm having a speedy recovery. I actually had an aneurysm in my kidney and blood clots. I thought it was kidney stones, but it turned out to be a lot worse.”
The kidney troubles were apparently a genetic disorder that required two surgeries to heal.
However, Ortiz-Magro assured that he's quickly regaining health, telling the Today hosts, “I'm going through a good recovery and I'm glad that these guys [his Shore co-stars] were checking in on me too.”
