This episode entitled “Unconscious Selection” focused on Helena and Sarah. Everyone in this episode wants Helena in some way and others want to find out the truth from Sarah.

In the last episode, Kira was hit by a car. In the opening minutes of the show, we see the aftermath of Kira’s accident. However, we see that she is doing fine in fact she is better than fine.

There are three plot-lines in this episode. The first revolves around Cosima and Delphine. After speaking with Sarah, Cosima acknowledges that she was wrong about them all being identical. She also learns that Delphine told Dr. Leekie that Cosima knew the other clones. Cosima decides to break it off with Delphine even though Delphine told her that she loved Cosima. Delphine did not tell Dr. Leekie about Kira.

The second plot revolves around Allison and Felix. After the two leave Felix’s place, Allison goes home to see that all of her family and friends are there with a pastor for an intervention. This so call intervention does not go well because Allison does not trust any of these people. This plot concludes with Allison revealing that Aynesley gave a roofer a blowjob in a cabin and Donnie decides to kick everyone out.

However, the meat of this episode focused on Helena, Sarah, Paul, Dr. Leekie and Art. First, Art begins to investigate Beth/Sarah on his own. He meets with Beth/Sarah and the two decide to break off their working relationship entirely after he asks who Felix is. He goes to the train station and retraces the events of that night. He gets a chance to see the video surveillance tape and figures out that Beth is dead and Sarah has been impersonating her.

Meanwhile, Sarah, Paul, and Dr. Leekie decide to team up to find Helena. We, the audience, see Sarah going into a ship yard to find Helena. Helena is caged up like an animal after failing to take Kira. Then Sarah frees her and they hug. Sarah also meets Helena’s Master and after Helena and the Master come to blows, Sarah knocks both of them out. She takes Helena and stuffs her in the trunk of the car. At this time, Mrs. S calls Sarah. She tells Sarah to come home quickly. Sarah’s real birth “mother” is a South African woman who was recruited to do in-vitro-fertilization. We find out that she had two girls. Helena and Sarah are twins. They are the originals. We also get a glimpse of another clone that may be Dr. Leekie’s boss.

This show is perfect! It can be hard to follow at times but the key is to weed out the minor plots; just follow Sarah. She usually gets the spotlight. After next week’s episode, I will give a comprehensive review of the first season. Orphan Black airs on BBC.
