It is practically impossible to win $1 million on Wheel of Fortune. Sure, you can answer a bunch of questions and become a millionaire on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, but Wheel has to be the toughest show to win $1 million on. However, Autumn Erhard did it last night and it was not easy.
Wheel has several steps that make the achievement nearly impossible. First, you have to get a tiny sliver on the Wheel of Fortune that reads “One Million” and is wedged between two “Bankrupt” pieces during the regular game. But you have to win the regular show and go all the way without ever getting “Bankrupt.”
Even then, there’s another step. As The Atlantic Wire notes, when you get to the bonus round, you have to get an envelope that’s in the small wheel that reads “Million.” You have to get the bonus puzzle and Erhard had one really hard puzzle. The category was simply “Thing” and she only had four letters to work with. The first words out of her mouth...
Tough Workout
...And bam. Just like that she did something that has not happened on the show since 2008, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
She also won $30,340 during the regular show and she gets to keep that. Her total winnings were $1,030,340.
