While NBC has done nothing but hand out bad news, axing Go On, Whitney, 1600 Penn and others, ABC has renewed several fan favorites, including Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Nashville and Castle.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC officially renewed the network’s dramas as announced Friday.
News of both Scandal and Grey’s renewal was revealed by show creator Shonda Rimes via Twitter. “It's officially official that @GreysABC and @ScandalABC are picked up for Season 10 and Season 3, respectively. #bestfansever!!” she wrote.
Rimes followed with a tweet which revealed that the writers for both Scandal and Grey’s have “been going since May 1. So we're already ahead!”
The network has also picked up Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D, Lucky 7, The Goldberg’s and Betrayal, The Wrap reports.
ABC will also welcome Super Fun Night, a comedy series from Bridesmaids actress Rebel Wilson.
The networks are expected to reveal their official lineups throughout next week.
NBC recently cut Go On, Whitney, Up All Night, Guys With Kids and 1600 Penn.
