It's official! The leads of the movie adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars have been cast, and it doesn't seem like anyone had guessed who they picked as the teen heartthrob with a missing leg Augustus Waters.

We've known for weeks that The Secret Life of an American Teenager Shailene Woodly would star as Hazel Grace, but speculation about who would play her romantic opposite has lasted longer. But it was finally announced today that Ansel Elgort, 19, is set to play Waters. Elgort will also be seen acting along side Woodly as her brother is the much-anticipated upcoming film adaptation of the Young Adult novel Divergent.

Producer Wyck Godfrey seems very happy with the choice, and also seems to really understand the poetic beauty with which Green creates characters. Godfrey told EW that they "...are confident that the fans of Fault will fall in love with him the same way that Hazel does – slowly, and then all at once.”

Green also had some happy words to say about it on his Tumblr. "Watching them read together was just…just so wonderful. One of the strangest and most rewarding moments of my professional life."

Elgort must be a great act, as he has only three credits listed on his IMDB page: a role in the updated Carrie, his role in Divergent, and now Augustus in TFioS.

So... who's excited?
