When it was revealed that former MLB star Jose Canseco was under investigation by Las Vegas police for rape charges, he took to Twitter multiple times to deny the accuser’s claims. However, he decided to delete them as he went, and then deny he deleted them.

As we previously reported, Canseco posted and deleted such tweets as “Breaking news this is a first folks las vegas police was just at my house,” and “All media welcome to the drama filled event. Did i rape or is she lieing. Stay tuned to another day in the life of jose canseco,” and finally, “I think we should start this off with a polygraph exam just to get the ball rolling.”

More concerning is that Canseco, who still plays in minor league baseball, tweeted the name, address of where she works and telephone number of the accuser. FOX5 legal analyst Bob Massi says this is a huge mistake, as she can now sue for defamation, invasion of privacy, or something else.

"Somebody's going to pay for this, and it's going to be him," Massi said, WNEM notes. He continued, "This is a reckless act by him that can and will give rise, I suspect at some point, to civil liability.”

On his way to a baseball event, Canseco told reporters “I will prove her as wrong as I've proved Major League Baseball. I always tell the truth, and that's the way it is.”
