Jacqueline Danforth, the daughter of The View host Barbara Walters, was arrested on a DUI charge. She has struggled with substance abuse, but had recently vowed to try to get her life back on track. Her life was frequently discussed in specials about Walters’ life.

TMZ first reported on the arrest, which occurred on May 19 in Naples, Florida. The site later acquired a police report that revealed the details of the arrest.

Danforth, 44, had to be “taken to the ground” by officers during the arrest to keep her from getting hurt in traffic. She was driving a Honda Pilot at 1:24 a.m. Police said that both she and a male passenger seemed extremely intoxicated throughout the incident. Once she was arrested, she “began shouting.”

“I was afraid that the suspect may run into traffic on the highway, so she was taken to the ground due to her unpredictable behavior, then secured in handcuffs,” an officer wrote in the report.

She took a breathalyzer test, which showed she had a .218 blood-alcohol level, which is well beyond the legal limit. After she was booked, Danforth was released on $1,000 bail.

According to the Daily News, Danforth is Walters’ adopted child with her second husband, Lee Guber. Walters announced her retirement from TV earlier this month.
