Oklahoma native and The Voice mentor Blake Shelton is planning a benefit to aid in the damage caused by the recent Oklahoma tornados. Along with NBC, Shelton is planning a benefit concert to help the victims of the tragedy.

After Tuesday’s taping of The Voice, Shelton told Billboard "We'll know more about it in the next 24 hours. I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly.”

This storm has become one of the most damaging storms to hit the United States and has been classified as the highest degree, an EF5.

Shelton was asked who would be performing in this tribute and he pointed to his Voice co-mentor and joked "I can call in some really big favors."

Also during Tuesday’s taping of the show, Shelton enlisted his wife, Miranda Lambert, to open the show with the song they wrote for Shelton’s older brother who was killed in car accident called “Over You.”

"I think it was the perfect song for this situation," Shelton said of the song, MTV News notes. "The moment was right and I wish things would've been different and I wouldn't have been thinking about performing a song like that."
