Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller has reportedly been involuntarily admitted to a psychiatric hospital after being hospitalized for prescription drug abuse.
HnGn reported Monday that Mueller was admitted to the psychiatric wing of the hospital after being admitted to the hospital for her addiction to prescription drugs.
However, Mueller’s rep tells Us Weekly, “Despite reports to the contrary, Brooke is currently at UCLA Medical Center where she has been since being admitted May 3. Brooke will be [at UCLA Medical Center] for several more days, and will likely transition directly into a residential treatment facility to get help for prescription drug abuse.”
News of her hospitalization comes just days after her 4-year-old twins Max and Bob were taken away by the Children and Family Services. The boys are under the temporary custody of Sheen’s other ex-wife, Denise Richards.
Sheen recently expressed his support for Richards' help during this difficult time, noting that Richards is the prime choice as caretaker for his young sons.
Her rep notes that Mueller is dedicated to getting healthy for her children. “Brooke misses her children, and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom," the rep adds.
