Bruce Dern is at the Cannes Film Festival promoting his movie Nebraska opposite Will Forte and Academy Award-winning director Alexander Payne. But that’s not all he’s doing while there, he’s also trying to set up his famous daughter, Laura Dern, with Forte.

Dern talked about what a wonderful experience he had shooting the film with Forte, he even thinks of him as a son now.

“If I could hook him and Laura up, it would be perfect," he explained, USA Today reports. "Because at the end of the movie I felt I had a son."

He went on to compare his experience with Forte to that of working with Jack Nicholson in The King of Marvin Gardens (1976), saying "Nicholson's probably the best partner I have ever had in a movie. But Will is right on his shoulder," adding, "This man gave me so much support, for all of those weeks.”

No word from Forte on if he would like to be set up with Dern’s daughter, but he did have high praises for the actor in return.

"Bruce could not have been more patient. It was much more comfortable than I thought it would be,” he said, adding, "I gotta love say, I love the road trip element of it. I love being in a car. It was really fun to hang out with Bruce for that long. He tells the best stories. I could listen to him for hours and very often I did listen to him for hours. It was a priceless experience."

Back in 2010, Laura split with her husband, musician Ben Harper. They have two children together.
