Looks like Faith Hill got "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood for the opening number of NBC's "Sunday Night Football."
According to Yahoo, many male football fans were discouraged to hear that the sexy blonde was retiring from the Sunday Night Football opener, but they will soon cheer up when they see another beautiful blonde take the center of the field to open SNF.
Underwood says she's "thrilled" and "honored" that NBC chose her for this opportunity. Additionally, Yahoo also reported that there was no other choice besides Underwood for the gig, stating that Underwood is "the perfect fit."
As Underwood's first production for NBC Sports, she will be recording her own version of the song that Hill has performed in the past, "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night." Underwood will make her "Sunday Night Football" premiere on September 8, where the Dallas Cowboys will be playing the New York Giants. Looks like she will get to perform for her ex, Tony Romo, who plays for the Cowboys. Hope it's not awkward!
According to The Inquistr, many fans are thrilled that it will be Underwood performing, and there were hundreds of tweets within minutes of the announcement!
Underwood will perform the Sunday Night Football opener every week just as Hill did.
