After the last episode of Castle, where Beckett questioned her relationship with Castle, she ceased after he remained by her side as she stood on a bomb.
This week's episode "Still," opens with Castle making cappuccinos for his lady. Beckett is lying in bed as he brings her breakfast. the two begin to talk about the latest case. The previous day an apartment building was bombed and they have yet to discover the bomber.
At the station, they learn about the prime suspect for the bombing, who has a history for making bombs. The cops and Castle raid the man's apartment. He escapes out the back and is caught by Esposito. Before the suspect surrenders he pushes a button on a remote linked to a bomb to set a time off. Esposito radios to Beckett, who tells everyone to get out! As Beckett rushes to get out she steps on a rug and hears a clicking noise. She freezes in fear she just triggered a bomb.
Castle remains by Beckett's side and refuses to leave. While they wait for the bomb disposal team, Castle tries to down play the whole incident and asks her to accompany him to a restaurant down the street. The leader for the bomb squad lets them know that there are no other explosives, but Beckett is standing on one.
Back at the station, the Captain informs Ryan and Esposito of the situation back at the bomber's apartment. The two are trying to figure out the bombers motives when they learn he has a vendetta against the police. Hoping that he will work with them, Ryan and Esposito try to reason with him, but he just lawyers up.
As the bomb squad is trying to disable the bomb, Castle asks why do not try an Indiana Jones trick and place something of Kate's weight on the bomb? The specialist informs them that the bomb is too sensitive and encourages Castle to leave unsuccessfully.
Kate continues to plea with Castle to leave and he agrees to, but only if he admits that she had feelings for him when they first met. The two squabble over the topic and begin to have flash backs of their relationship.
The bomb specialist discover that there is a code to deactivate the bomb, the only problem is they do not know it and if the wrong one is entered it will set the bomb off.
Ryan and Esposito talk with the lawyer of the bomber, who tells them that he wants full amenity for giving them the code. They refuse this offer. the lawyer takes pen and paper for the bomber to write down all his demands, but the bomber uses the pen to kill himself.
Wondering why the bomber took his own life, Ryan and Esposito learn that he had only a few months to live due to cancer. Also, that he was trying to find his ex-girlfriend because she had a child while he was previously in jail.
The bomb squad soon learns that the bomb has a timer and begins to evacuate everyone from the building. Beckett continues to plea with Castle to leave saying she does not want Alexis to be without a father.
Castle finally gives in and goes, but to come back after Kate sees her life flash before her eyes. Furious with Castle, Beckett asks why? He tells her they need to look at the full story to figure out the code and learn the name of the bomber's son is Billy. Castle punches it in with seconds to go. Thankful the bomb is disabled.
As Beckett and Castle exit. the Captain, Esposito, and Ryan pull up. the Captain tells Beckett to go ahead and kiss Castle. Shocked that the Captain knew about their relationship. Beckett learns over and kisses Castle.
Next week, Beckett gets an offer to head to Washington. Will she take it?
