Channing Tatum has had a lot of success in his career, but there’s someone that he would like to be like: Jennifer Lawrence.
The 21 Jump Street star, who is expecting his first child with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, opened up in an interview with Cosmopolitan that he wouldn’t mind having a career like the Oscar winner.
“I wouldn’t mind being the male Jennifer Lawrence. I think she’s incredibly cool,” Tatum, 33, said of Lawrence, 22.
The actor also opened up about his marriage to Dewan, saying that he they both genuinely want to be with each other and work on their relationship.
“You have to want it,” he said, Access Hollywood notes. “Jenna’s and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like, ‘On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?’ And you gotta be honest, and you’ve got to want an honest answer.”
Staying grounded and approachable is important to Tatum, who says his friends help him in that area. “It's embarrassing to tell you how much my friends make fun of me. Seriously, when you have a doll made of your face, it's ridiculous how creative your friends can get…pictures, videos, little animated cartoons that they've made. And they're way, way not PG-13. So I get chopped down to size all the time,” he said.
He also talked about staying in shape, saying “I'm a fat kid on the inside. I love food so much, and I fluctuate about 25 to 30 pounds between movies."
