Charlie Sheen is honoring his birth name in his upcoming film Machete Kills as the Anger Management is ditching “Sheen” and being introduced as Carlos Estevez.

Although the films official profile lists the man playing the U.S. President as “Charlie Sheen,” TMZ obtained a screen shot of Sheen's character which reads, “and introducing Carlos Estevez.”

This marks the first time Sheen has been credited as his birth name, TMZ notes, which suggests that he is embracing his Latino roots for the Latin based action thriller. Sheen previously confessed as quoted by Contact Music, “I don't wake up feeling Latino. I'm a white guy in America. I was born in New York and grew up in Malibu.”

TMZ notes that Sheen's father, Martin, was born Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estevez, but changed his name in the hopes of getting acting jobs. Charlie changed his name when he was 4 so as to be to confused with is uncle Carlos.

Three of Martin's children have embraced their birth names, Renee, Emilion and Ramon each embrace 'Estevez' as their last name.

Machete Kills is slated to hit theaters September 13, 2013.
