Taylor Swift’s recent music video for her new single “22” portrays twenty-something life as something to be celebrated - eating ice cream with an abundance of girlfriends, living in a swanky apartment and of course wearing stylish, vintage clothes.
Conan O’Brien does not remember life at 22 to be like Swift’s depiction. The late show talk host created a video in response to Swift’s music video and depiction of the twenty-something lifestyle. O’Brien says his life at 22 was nothing like how she portrays it.
In the video O’Brien says on being 22: “You’re a freak so no one talks to you. You just sit in your apartment and watch ‘Saved By the Bell and eat ramen noodles.”
O’Brien starts the video by calling Taylor Swift great and talented, but he believes it is a false portrayal of what it’s like at this age.
“I didn't see her driving a 1973 Plymouth Valiant, that she bought form some surfers in Santa Monica. You only buy it because it had air conditioning and then the air conditioning didn't work and the surfers laughed when you left," O’Brien says in the video.
