The nominees for the Critics’ Choice Television Awards, which are handed out by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, were announced this morning, with cable networks HBO and FX earning the most nominations. However, it was a broadcast show - The Big Bang Theory - that earned the most for a single show with six. FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum also scored six nods.

The awards will be handed out on Monday, June 10 with Parks and Recreation star Rhetta hosting at the Beverly Hills Hilton. UStream will stream the ceremony live.

HBO was the most-nominated network with 21, while FX was not far behind with 19. Aside from Big Bang and Asylum, other shows that had more than one nomination include Parks & Recreation and Top of the Lake with five. The Americans, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Louie, New Girl and Political Animals all had four.

Deadline notes that there were some surprising omissions. ABC’s Modern Family only had one nomination, which was for Sarah Hyland for Supporting Actress in a comedy. Girls was also not nominated in the Best Comedy category and 30 Rock was shut out for its final season.

On the drama side, Mad Men was surprisingly snubbed. Only Elisabeth Moss was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama.

The Best Comedy category includes Big Bang, Louie, The Middle, New Girl, Parks & Recreation and Veep. The Best Drama series nominees are The Americans, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of THrones, The Good Wife and Homeland.
