Newly retired soccer superstar, David Beckham, revealed his plans to team up with the acerbic chef Gordon Ramsay to open up a sports bar and grill in Las Vegas.

Recently, we reported that Beckham was hanging up the cleats and retiring from soccer after 20 years, 129 goals, and three World Cup appearances. His final game was played on May 18.

No sooner had he stepped off the field, Las Vegas tycoon Steve Wynn approached Beckham and chef Ramsay with an idea to combine their international star power, Marie Claire reports.

Not only is Ramsay a reality TV star with such shows on FOX as Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen, but he already owns three restaurants in Vegas: a burger place, a steakhouse, and a bar and grill.

Combining Ramsay’s food expertise with Beckham’s renowned athletic talent, Wynn plans to open a sports bar and grill in one of his luxury hotels on the Las Vegas strip.

A source close to Wynn explained, “Gordon's places are full seven nights a week. He's one of the best chefs in the world, so it's only natural that Steve feels he should have a place in his hotel as it's the most luxurious on The Strip.”

The source continued, “When you add David Beckham's global status into the mix it has the potential to be the most talked about restaurant in Vegas.”
