Demi Lovato admits that she has lost many of her friends after undergoing treatment for an assortment of issues in rehab.

Lovato, who has signed on to co-judge another season of Simon Cowell’s X Factor, says in a new interview with Company magazine that she doesn’t have a lot of friends.

She explained, "A couple of months before I went to rehab, I had a birthday party and there were a few hundred people there. People I considered my closest friends.”

But reality sunk in when she finished up her rehab program. She said, “When I turned my phone on after being in rehab for three months, I expected lots of text messages and phone calls. I had four texts. That was a wake-up call."

Although it was a wake-up call that narrowed down her group of friends extensively, at least she knows the ones who stuck around are her true friends.

"I don't have loads of friends," she said, The Hollywood Gossip reports. "I used to, but then I realized, do any of them actually care? Now I have people who, if I break my leg in the middle of the night, they'll come to the hospital with me. Or they'll answer the phone at 4 a.m. if I need them."
