Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill is rumored to replace actor Tom Cruise in the upcoming Guy Ritchie directed remake of The Man from U.N.C.L.E..

While the news that Cruise would no longer star in film only surfaced earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter notes that Cavill is in talks to replace Cruise, who wants to focus on the fifth installment in the Mission Impossible franchise.

Thus far Armie Hammer is only actor signed on to the film, which is slated to begin production soon, THR notes that Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is currently in negotiations.

The 1964 spy TV series focused on two spies who worked together for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement to fight against the forces of THRUSH. Hammer is slated to play agent Illya Kuryakin, while Cavil would star as Napoleon Solo, should he sign on.

Cavill's Man of Steel hits theaters June 14. The film is backed by Warner Bros., who are also behind The Man from U.N.C.L.E..
