Will Smith revealed in a recent interview that his son, Jaden Smith, wanted to be emancipated from his parents for his 15th birthday. But the father/son duo appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and addressed the rumors head on.

Jaden denied wanting to get his own house and leave his famous parents’ home, saying everything is “free” so he has no reason to leave.

“The thing that people don't get is that everything at his house is free," Jaden told DeGeneres, NY Daily News reports. "I can get anything and everything at his house so I think I'm gonna be there for 20, 30 more years."

Jaden, who appears in After Earth with his dad, also joked “He says that as soon as I have a movie that's bigger than one of his movies then I have to get my own house.”

Will jumped in to say that his son is “never leaving me,” saying “I mean my baby boy he's never leaving me … ever. No emancipation for the Smith kids."

The rumors about the emancipation started when Will said what he now refers to as a joke, “He says, ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ooh,” adding, “That’s the backlash. On the other side, if kids just want to have command of their lives, I understand.”
