Jennifer Aniston’s haircut in Friends took on a life of its own in the ‘90s, with fans even dubbing it “The Rachel.” Women went to their salons with a picture of the haircut, hoping to achieve the same look. But Aniston and her hairstylist and longtime friend, Chris McMillan, are revealing never-before-heard details.
McMillan told Women’s Wear Daily he was stoned when he gave her the haircut in 1994. “I’m 14 years sober, so I feel safe enough to say that,” he said.
They spoke to the magazine to promote their hair-care company Living Proof and Aniston talked about women’s perspective about their hair when doing research for the company.
"I was looking at these girls who were not loving their hair, and I'm thinking, 'You have beautiful hair!'" she said of women being polled about their hair. She said, “t's always funny, our perspective of ourselves and how incorrect it usually is. We always seem to want something we don't have. And it's a shame, because there's so much beauty to be appreciated in the world. We spend so much time not loving what we've been given and trying to make it look different."
Us Weekly reports that Aniston notes she has “wavy, frizzy hair” and the products have worked wonders on her own hair.
Besides this next step in her career, she also has goals of directing a film within the next five years.
"The thing I want to do next is direct," the We’re The Millers star explained. "I want to direct a full-length feature within the next five years. I usually never put times on anything, but the next five years would be great. Right now, I'm luckily still working as an actor, and I love it."
