Jennifer Lawrence, star of the highly anticipated Hunger Games: Catching Fire , nearly experienced the reality of the upcoming sequel’s name.

At a party during the Cannes Film Festival, where Lawrence and costar Liam Hemsworth are promoting the second film in the trilogy, escaped catching fire when an 8-foot column holding up a platter of lit candles fell where the stars were sitting.

Lawrence and Hemsworth were sitting on a sofa when the column fell, but both stars quickly jumped out of the way, and brushed off the near-disaster with laughter.

While busy promoting the newest in The Hunger Games series, Lawrence is filming the new superhero flick, X-Men: Days of Future Past . The Oscar-winning actress plays Mystique, a mutant super-villain with blue skin and yellow eyes.

Director of the new X-Men movie, Bryan Singer, posted a photo of Lawrence as in full makeup to his Twitter account with the caption, “First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique. #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast,” New York Daily News reports.

In an interview with The Telegraph last year, Lawrence said that the eight hour makeup process, in which her skin had to be shaved and rubbed with alcohol before it could be painted, left her blistered and scarred. “I just got tired thinking about it,” Lawrence said of sitting to be painted. “It was a long process.”
