The Descendants actress Judy Greer has landed the female lead in a new FX comedy pilot from writer Andrew Gurland. The project, which will co-star Nat Faxon, is currently untitled.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot centers on a married couple who are great friends, but not exactly the best lovers. The two try to do whatever they can to save the marriage, even if it includes sleeping with others. They have three young daughters who are already hard for Greer’s character to handle.
As Deadline notes, this is the second project that Greer has teamed up with FX for, but the first time she’ll actually appear on screen. She currently voices a character on the animated hit Archer.
The new pilot comes from FX Productions and was developed by Salamo Levin with Gurland (The Last Exorcism, Mail Order Wife).
Greer plays the ex-wife of Ashton Kutcher’s character on Two and a Half Men and also reprises her role of Kitty Sanchez in the new Arrested Development episodes. She also stars in Dawn of the Planet Of The Apes, which is currently filming.
As for Faxon, who co-wrote The Descendants with Alexander Payne and Jim Rash, he recently starred on Fox’s short-lived sitcom Ben and Kate.
