Justin Bieber has become more of a controversial artist lately, keeping much of his fan base but undeniably gaining more naysayers. Although he won a fan-voted award at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, he accepted it with boos from the audience.
Bieber seemed to acknowledge that, telling the crowd that he thinks he’s “doing a good job.”
"I'm 19 years old," he said as he received the last award of the night, People reports. "I think I'm doing a pretty good job."
He continued, "This is not a gimmick. I'm an artist, and I should be taken seriously. This other bull should not be spoken of."
One person who is on his side is seemingly on-again girlfriend Selena Gomez, who also attended the show in Las Vegas. In a backstage video that E! Online reported on, Gomez bumps into Bieber while she’s walking with Swift. Swift doesn’t seem too pleased about the reunion, giving a less than enthusiastic face as they kiss on the cheek and catch up.
Eventually one of the members of Gomez’s entourage rushes her away.
